Navy Successful technology

New type of hydrogen fuel cell uses bacteria to provide variable buoyancy, allowing an autonomous ocean sensor to surface and dive with ease. Rather than harvesting electricity from microbial metabolism, the system harvests the metabolic byproducts themselves. Read: gas.

Researchers also used a very low-power timer, using between 1 and 10 milliwatts, to program the sensor to surface and dive on-demand. The bacterial gas generation was enough to power the timer. On-board sensors confirmed the cylinder’s rise and fall, according to researcher Justin Biffinger.

CPUs New Technology

Core CPUs From Intel and AMD.Intel has been very good about sticking to its road map. Both AMD and Intel are trying to pack more cores onto a die in order to continue aid with multitasking operations and improve processing powers. your CPU has only a single core, it's officially a dinosaur but think if it is 32 core cpu than what can we call it ?In 2009 Intel will roll out 32-nanometer processors (down from today's 45nm chips).Miniaturizing chips further will be key to fitting these cores and other components into a limited space.you can even get laptop computers with four cores today. But we're really just at the beginning of the core wars. Now the core wars is begin.Intel declares that "hundreds" of cores may come even farther down the line.32-Core CPUs From Intel and AMD is great.

An eco-harmonious Japan ‘Smart Town’ for 2014

In the wake of the terrible earthquake/Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster, Japan is focused on a safe and secure energy infrastructure. We’ve already heard about Naoto Kan’s idea to install a national solar panel array, but Panasonic and eight other companies have started their own clean energy project.

The plan is to turn a piece of Fujisawa city into a “sustainable smart town” of 1000 houses all built to be energy-conscious and eco-harmonious. Each of the nine companies has their own responsibility from creating the town concept and service model, to energy management services. This would be a very large private-sector development and would be the first of its kind in the world. They are estimating a 60 billion yen ($700 million) price tag for development

Panasonic and Fujisawa have agreed to build the town on a the site of a former Panasonic plant. The smart town aims to house 3,000 people and aims to open up in March of 2014, with full occupancy by 2018. The three main ideas that will go into design of this utopia center around eco-conscious master planning; comprehensive information and energy connection; and a “next-generation lifestyle unique to a smart town.

Some of the specific ideas under consideration in the master planning include solar panel designs that blend with the flora of the town, as well as a space designation to enable and promote electric car sharing. There will be charging stations all around the town, for cars and for electric bicycles. There will be storage batteries in all the homes, and each unit will contain smart energy saving appliances which will have “future network compatibility in mind”.

Solar will not be the only focus of energy collection. They plan on using a combination of wind, light, heat and water to fill up the battery storage systems. It seems as if every comfort has been provided for with guilt-free energy. Even with the 60 billion yen ($700 million) price tag for development, the brand new green village will probably be more cost efficient than dealing with older structures. Panasonic hopes to use this Fujisawa smart town as a template to create even larger communities in Japan.

Google launches helicopter view in Google Maps

Google added a new feature this week that offers a 3-dimensional view of that route.

You take Benefit from this new feature than simply plug in a start point and a end point to the directions section of Google Maps.Calculate the route  look for a “3D” button next to the text “Driving directions”. After pressing the new “3D” button, the map shifts into Google Earth view and begins navigating the route.

Simulation of the route can be paused at any time and users can rotate the map exploring the terrain of the surrounding area. This concept is similar to the Soarin’ Over California attraction at Disneyland’s California Adventure, a theme park ride that lifts people into the air and simulates a flight over scenic portions of California.

Google Maps helped the man in question burglarize nine suburban homes and steal $100,000 worth of jewelry and electronics.

3D simulation of the route can be paused at any time and users can rotate the map exploring the terrain of the surrounding area.

Users can view each leg of the trip by watching the highlighted section within the directions on the left side of the screen after resuming the simulated flight.

Now users can also jump to other sections of the trip by clicking on a specific section within the directions.

Google Maps recently received a bit of negative attention when criminals in Chicago used the service to satellite view to seek out expensive homes next to highways.

50 % of Americans use Camera phones to spy on others

Interactive survey reveals that 50 percent of American adults
have no problem whipping out the smartphone to take secret videos of unsuspecting people. This Survey is conducted among 2,300 peoples.

Wow  57 % of Americans would find a work-related video funny or interesting if filmed and uploaded by a co-worker When it comes to online video.

hmmmmmm 10 % would record a “sexy waitress” at a restaurant, nine percent would film the shirtless gardener mowing the neighbor’s lawn, seven percent would film cheerleaders discreetly and five percent would film another couple kissing or making out.

The most popular response at 23 percent was recording people in embarrassing outfits, perhaps to upload a silly compilation on YouTube.

When it comes to online video 21 % want to see video of a co-worker taking a nap at their desk, 12 % want to see video of inappropriate behavior at an office party and 11 % would watch a co-worker “pigging out” in the workplace kitchen.

According to me any video that reaches viral status may end up landing the filmmaker in court and it’s very likely that this tendency to invade other people’s privacy will result in embarrassment if videos become public.

Facebook New Development policy

I think every 1 there is very glad and excited to hear this cool piece of news .Facebook is adding a new method for users to recover an account without the need of a password this is just due to an increse in amount of passwords to remember on a daily basis for a variety of sites across the Web.

Facebook users can choose between three to five friends to trust with account recovery and they will be supplied a code via email to help regain access to the account.

Facebook is also providing a new method of accessing applications through an extra layer of securit.Facebook new system is similar to lending out a house key to a neighbor or friend when traveling on vacation or a business trip.

Now facebook friends can help a Facebook user recover account access when the user forgets their password and doesn’t have access to an email account for recovery.

According to a research less than four percent of content shared on Facebook is spam compared to nearly 90 percent of all sent email and it is less than half a percent of all Facebook users experience spam each day and only 0.06 % of the one billion logins per day are compromised.

App passwords can be used when logging into a third party application such as Spotify or Skype. The facebok lovers goes to Account Settings, clicks on the Security Tab link and selects the third party application in the App Passwords section of the page is they really want to enable feature on a particular application.

The social network management also touted security efforts from the social network to keep spam out of Facebook feeds.

Cloud BasedTransportation Technology

Safety concerns would need to be addressed if a concept like this were to ever take flight.
New York based architect is taking the term in a whole new direction with his Passing Cloud public transportation concept. He looks to challenge the way we travel. This would be public transport system would lack a pre-determined destination, instead leaving that up to fate or prevailing winds.

The Passengers enter and exit the sky-grazing “Cloud” via ladders before departure and need only sit aboard during flight.

Method of transportation that harkens back to the days when the act of traveling was more exciting and less mundane; focusing on the importance of the act and not the destination with the use of this cool traveling cloud.

Apple’s in no hurry to release iPad 3

The schedule is less tech-related and more competition-related. The iPad 3 won’t hit shelves until 2012 due to the lack of competition, among other factors.

Apple continues to dominate the tablet market. The next threat will likely come from Microsoft’s upcoming line of tablets sporting the Windows 8 operating system.

Accordin to my point of view the next potential threat to Apple’s tablet dominance is not until late 2012 when Windows 8-based tablets could hit the market.

New Portable GPS Tracker

This New tracker is really very cool and portable. The tracker has done it’s travels and it’s back in your possession you simply connect it to you PC and download the data.
Guys keep in mind that the GPS Tracker is pretty small so you could either always carry it on you or use it in 007 spy mode by planting it on a person or vehicle you want to monitor.

This cool data can then be plotted on Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com and Virtual Earth to show exactly where it’s been, how long it took and how it got there.
It’s sort of a cross between a USB memory stick and a GPS receiver and what it does is store where ever you take it on the flash memory.
It obviously has the spy functionality of tracking somebody else but to me it is even more useful for tracking your own holidays and backpacking adventures
Its price is just $249.99

Facebook receives a bit over 17 million status updates every hour When users endlessly uploading new status updates to their profile pages.

The rapid posting rates for services like Facebook and Twitter have been spurred by the adoption of smartphones over the last few years.

The Social Netwoking site Twitter sees about 120,000 tweets rolling out each minute.

Facebook’s recent changes to sharing are likely to increase posting rates even more as services like Spotify automatically post what a user is currently listening to on the Facebook feed.

iPad Playable Guitar

Kickstarter project blessed  iPad-lovers with a cool and intresting guitar like instrument to slide their iPad into and fulfill their musical dreams.Wow ! This cool instrument will start with a Starr Labs patented button-based guitar fretboard ok and the iPad will hook into the instrument via the 30 pin dock and users will then essentially have a whole band at their fingertips.

The iTar project may be around $200+ from the folks over at Starr Labs aims to create a guitar that you can plug your iPad into to start playing.

We all Know that regular guitars seem cool enough to us, but if you’re looking for something a little more…modern, we’ve got a Kickstarter project that you’ll probably want to pledge to right away.

According to my point of view the touchscreen interface of the iPad will allow users to have control of everything from drums to maracas and more. This product would offer almost limitless uses for work or for play Whether you’re a professional musician or just a hobby instrumentalist.

The company is also urging developers to create other compatible applications. The  Pledge $200 to the yet unfunded (currently at $9,000 or $50,000 goal) project .

What you Guys Think Of This Cool Technology ?

Invisible Keys Technology

Researchers uses motion sensor technology to create an 'Invisible Key', allowing you to open your front door with a preset hand gesture. Its Totally a New and Cool Technology Gifted by Tiawan.

Tsai Yao-pin.said :

“In the future, you won’t have to worry about losing or forgetting your keys"

Tsai Yao-pin developed this Cool and Owsume Technology. His  team’s invention was deemed practical enough to net them a gold award at the 4-day 2011 Taipei International Invention Show though we’ve seen technology to put in passcodes on doors, biometric security products and even apps for your phone like the Lockitron.

Tsai Yao-pin has already had several companies approach him about the invention, and he estimates commercial availability sometime in 2012.

The researchers based the invisible key off of gaming motion sensor technology, the kind you’d see in a Nintendo Wii. Users simply repeat a preset handgesture in front of the sensor, and seconds later have access to home-sweet-home.

The heart of the locking mechanism is a chip which tracks 3D movement. Wow !

These New and Owsume Digital Technologies  brings some criticism about security.According to me its a very Cool Idea. What do you Think Guys ?

The Nook Tablet

The New Nook tablet is really owsume guys. Anyone who preordered the device will be able to pick it up from stores on Wednesday, with general sales of the new tablet beginning on Thursday.
People who ordered the device online might also receive it in the mail on Wednesday wow really amazing !
I think that the  the deciding factors will be things such as price, each device’s ecosystem and the quality of the user experience. We can take this cool Nook tablet from stores on comming Wednesday.
We all know that the two devices will be going head to head this holiday season.
The much-anticipated battle between Amazon’s $199 Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble’s $249 Nook Tablet will be well and truly underway. Both feature 7-inch touchscreens, while the Nook Tablet has double the amount of internal memory (16GB), double the RAM (1GB), and an SD card slot
Consumers can finally begin to actually hold, feel, swipe and touch both devices, it should soon become clear which of the two is going to be the bigger hit this holiday season and beyond.
The Kindle Fire, which began shipping at the start of this week ok and  the Fire after comparing it with the iPad, which seems unfair considering the $300 price difference.
This is really cool and those who ordered it online should also being receiving it on Wednesday.
What you guys think of it ?
